All of a sudden when i try and open a word program from floppy that i have
text boxes in, as i open it word says it is coverting program and once it has
opened the text boxes have gone and all my original formating.Yet if i open a
simalar document from my documents on the desktop it is fine.Great i thought
i will copy this program and send it to floppy - no joy word still converted
it.Any ideas, its driving me potty as i cant save to disc as there is no
point if it wont open again in the same layout.Cant understand it as i have
changed nothing and add information to this program nearly every day with no
problems before.

NEVER open a document from a floppy. It is an almost certain way of
provoking document corruption.

As others have said, you should not try opening a file from a floppy, as
this is a good way to corrupt it. Copy it to your HD, then open. But if
you're opening it from Word's File Open dialog, check to make sure you don't
have the file type set to Recover Text from Any File.
