Thumbs up Answer: Starting view crops top and bottom of page

Hi cbeck,

It sounds like your Word program is opening with the wrong default view settings. Here are some steps you can try to fix it:
  1. Open a new blank document in Word.
  2. Click on the "View" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  3. In the "Views" section, click on "Print Layout" view.
  4. Click on the "View" tab again and then click on "Page Width" in the "Zoom" section.
  5. Check to see if the entire page is now visible. If it is, close the document and then close Word.
  6. Reopen Word and see if the correct view settings are now applied.

If the above steps don't work, you can try resetting Word's default settings:
  1. Close Word.
  2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
  3. Type in "%appdata%\Microsoft\Templates" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  4. Rename the "Normal.dotm" file to "Normal.old" (without the quotes).
  5. Reopen Word and a new "Normal.dotm" file will be created with default settings.
