Extra line after page break inserted before table at top of page
I have several pages that I use a one row table at the top of the page. After
I insert a hard page break then use the table at the top of the page there is an extra carriage return before the table. I have tried putting the hard page in the first column of the table but that didn't help. The weird thing is if I copy the document into a blank document the extra carriage return is gone until I save the document. Once I save the document the carriage return appears again. |

You can avoid this by formatting the first row of the table as "Page break
before." -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Lee Morehead" Lee wrote in message ... Format the first paragraph in the table to have a Page break before it.

Using Word 2007 how do I do this? I don't see that option in table properties.

Thank you so much. I have been struggling with this for a couple of days now
and could not get it to work. I had read in some of your other posts that this was the fix but for the life of me couldn't figure out how to do it. If you are out of the table the paragraph formatting is available from right click but once you go into the the table the option is gone. Man they really hid that! I regard it as tantamount to a bug that Font... and Paragraph... are not on
the context menu even in a single table cell, much less when you have a table row selected (at least you can get to some of the font formatting from the mini-toolbar). Given that we can no longer customize context menus, this is really inexcusable. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Lee Morehead" wrote in message ...
