Default How do I stop the File Menu from hiding?

The File Menu disappears if the pointer is not directly pointed on the menu.
The Standard and Formatting toolbars are the only menus displayed or docked.

There are two probabable ways I know of that this could be the case, but I
don't claim to know much anyway...

First, you may have installed some sort of 'hackie' that adds _enhanced_
(i.e., weird) animation effects to menus, etc. If so, IMHO, you would do well
to get rid of it. Any control should be found in it's documentation.

More likely, though, you have gotten yourself into Full Screen View. In that
case, there should be a small toolbar lying around on screen _somewhere_ (you
may have moved it into a docked location so that it even appears to be part
of another toolbar, but you can't close it). The only button of interest on
that toolbar is labeled "Close Full Screen". Click it.

There is no default keyboard shortcut to toggle Full Screen View, but if
that's what you're in and can't find the toolbar, try Alt+C to get out.

ESC will also get you out of Full Screen.
