How do I sort a single comma separated list?
I want to take a single list of part numbers, such as:
8262, 8B20, 101, 2B111, 8A22 And sort it alpha-numerically, so the resulting list would be something like: 101, 2B111, 8262, 8A22, 8B20 Is this possiable within MS Word? If so, at which version does this feature become available? |

This can be done in any version of Word:
1. Select all of the part numbers, and click on Edit | Replace | Find what: type a comma and a space | Replace with: click on More | Special | Paragraph mark | Replace all. This puts each part number on a separate line. 2. Select the list of part numbers, and click on Table | Sort | choose sort options | OK. This sorts the part numbers. 3. Select the sorted list of part numbers, and click on Edit | Replace | Find what: click on More | Special | Paragraph mark | Replace with: type a comma and a space | Replace all. This puts the part numbers back together on the same line, with each part number separated by a comma and a space. ge575 wrote: I want to take a single list of part numbers, such as: 8262, 8B20, 101, 2B111, 8A22 And sort it alpha-numerically, so the resulting list would be something like: 101, 2B111, 8262, 8A22, 8B20 Is this possiable within MS Word?
