TOC - Won't let me enter RD field
I'm having a couple of problems with table of contents. I have an old one
that refers to multiple documents. But when I open it and push F9 to update it, it says "Error! Cannot open file referenced on page 4". When I go ALT-F9 to see my fields, all of the RD fields are gone and only the first TOC field is there. So I tried to make a new TOC in a blank document. I went Insert-Reference-Index&Tables and inserted a field that says {TOC\o"1-2"\h \z \u}. Then I pushed CTRL-F9 to enter a RD field. It gives me the brackets with the grey shading, and it lets me type R, but as soon as I type D the whole field disappears. If I type anything other than D after the R, the field stays. How am I supposed to enter a reference document? |

Alternatively, input the rest of the field code before prefixing it with 'RD'.

Or, one more workaround: type the entire field code first, then select it and
press Ctrl+F9 to surround it with the braces (at which time it will disappear).
