Default Mail merge with chinese character field

I am using MS Office 2003 with SP3. Some of the entries in the Outlook
records were entered in Traditional Chinese. When I tried to perform a mail
merge or creating labels, the Chinese characters are replaced by "????". Am
I missing some settings?

Thanks,

Where is the data coming from. If Excel, then in Word, from the Tools menu,
select Options and then on the General tab, check the box against "Confirm
conversions at open". Then when you attach the datasource to the mail merge
main document, select the DDE option in the dialog box that appears.
