word 2000 network drive slow to open
We have a small network of around 100 computers. Most have win xp sp2; there
are a few who have win 2000. Some people have office 2003 and others have word/excel 2000 depending on what department they are in. We are noticing that the people who have word/excel 2000 (regardless of win xp or win 2000) are having trouble opening files that are saved on the network drive. We changed everyone's file locations under ToolsOptionsFile Locations to their folder on the network drive so their work gets backed up nightly. Word/Excel opens fast and you can click the folder to open. As soon as you click the folder, it opens to the network drive, but as soon as you try to browse around or click on a folder within the network drive, it hangs for 30 seconds to a minute before opening. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

On each computer that has this problem, right-click on the My
Computer icon on the Windows desktop, left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped drives that are not currently available. carbon06 wrote: We have a small network of around 100 computers. All of our network drives are currently available. Do you have any other
suggestions?
