Hi,
Ive got a 62 page Word document which has different odd page and even page
headers, which views and prints perfectly from within Word (XP). However,
when I convert the Word document to a .pdf file with Acrobat 7, the 'even'
page heading shows in the resulting pdf with an earlier instance of our
header (the 'odd' page translates fine). Its quite bizarre - I look at the
same document in one window as a Word file and I can see our most recent
header on screen and in print, and in another window is the converted pdf of
the same file and that shows a completely different header!

Ive edited the header in the original file several times to try to resolve
it, even clicking in the header field and selecting all and remove, but
STILL in a resultant pdf the old header rears its head ;o) again. I did try
to create a new section break to 'push' the unwanted header off the bottom
of the document but that didnt work for me either. The only possible
workaround I can come up with is to create a brand new Word document and
copy and paste my content into it, but I'd have to do that for the content
of each page individually because as soon as I copy beyond a page break then
the old header seems to come with it. Isnt there a way to 'force' Word to
abandon ALL header/footer info so I can start again and insert the content I
want?

Header and footer information is contained in section breaks. This appears
to be a problem with your method of generating pdf files. You might try a
different converter. CutePDF is available as a free download.

Using Word 2003 SP1 and Adobe Acrobat Professional 7

I have a similar problem. I have a mail merge document withe a header
containing a horizontal line. When converting the merged documents to PDF
using Adobe 7.0.3, PDFMaker only the last 11 spooled documents contain the
horizontal line. After extensive testing, the problem always occurs starting
with the 12th document.

Can we simply delete all section breaks as a single step throughout the
document? As I already said, simply changing the header works fine within
word, its only when its exported its an issue.
And thanks for the advice a different converter but Im afraid Im stuck
with Acrobat 7 - my company chose this tool for better or for worse and I
cant go outside that even for a free one
