Default Word forms - using a text box

I have a Word form where I use text and drop down form fields. I would like
to use a text box at the bottom of the form to collect comments/feedback (the
text form field is too small). However, when I click the "Protect Document"
button I can't tab to the text box or enter any text in it.
Anyone know how I can have a protected document but still be able to select
and enter text in a text box?
Thanks.

Use a frame or a table cell instead of a text box and don't put it in the
footer view.

Hi Graham. Thanks for the reply. What I ended up doing was putting the text
box in a separate table. Then I inserted a continous break between the table
with my form and the table with the text box, and protected the form section
while leaving the text box section unprotected.
