Mouse not working in Word
I am having an unusual issue where the mouse is not functioning in Word. The
mouse works fine everwhere else. In word, unable to select text or move the cursor position by clicking with the mouse. Also, unable to open a document by clicking on the Word document in file explorer, instead I need to open Word, then do a file open. Any ideas?? |

By the way, I had done a repair of Word, problem remained. Then I
uninstalled Office and reinstalled from the CD, problem still remains. "Lee D" wrote: I am having an unusual issue where the mouse is not functioning in Word. The mouse works fine everwhere else. Hi,
I have same problem, seemed to start after uninstalling Adobe CS3 beta and installing Adobe CS3 Suite. All help is appreciated? Mouse not working in Word
Brent,
My issue ended up being related to Laserfiche. I needed to delete the normal.dot file for word and a template for Laserfiche. After deleting those files everything was back to normal. I would suggest deleting normal.dot to see if that solves the problem. "Brent" wrote: Hi, I have same problem, seemed to start after uninstalling Adobe CS3 beta and installing Adobe CS3 Suite. Hi,
For me it turned out to be disabling SnagIt from within Word. "Lee D" wrote: Brent, My issue ended up being related to Laserfiche. Mouse not working in Word
I have the same problem, but cannot figure out how to select the option to
disable Snagit in Word! I can bring up the options, but can't scroll to Add-Ins to get rid of the feature. Any thoughts? Mouse not working in Word
Hi,
Doing a registry edit solved the problem for me: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Word\ Addins Found add-ins listed. I changed the value of the LoadBehavior key from 3 to 0 for each add-in. Found info on this at http://www.itwriting.com/blog/?p=140 and some other places I don't recall. Good Luck, Brent "Jenni_o" wrote: I have the same problem, but cannot figure out how to select the option to disable Snagit in Word! It is highly unlikely that SnagIt is the problem, and if it is I am sure
Techsmith would want to hear about it. They are very proactive in dealing with issues. Mouse not working in Word
I did have one issue with SnagIt breaking one of my keyboard shortcuts, but
I don't recall which one it was. Just closing SnagIt did the trick. -- Suzanne S. Mouse not working in Word
Hi,
As soon as I disabled the snagit addon in word 2007 the problem went away. Snagit is great and I still use it all the time but not via Word addin. What was strange was it didn't seem to be causing a problem until I added CS3 suite to my machine?!?! Take care, Brent "Graham Mayor" wrote: It is highly unlikely that SnagIt is the problem, and if it is I am sure Techsmith would want to hear about it. They are very proactive in dealing with issues. Same thing worked for me - disabled Snagit as an add-in - which you can't do
from Word because one of the problems is that you can't get at Add-Ins in Word Options! - and everything worked again. So yes, I think it is a problem with Snagit, although possibly also other add-ins. -- Michael Karlin "Brent" wrote: Hi, As soon as I disabled the snagit addon in word 2007 the problem went away. Lee, you are a genius. I had searched the internet for a solution and spent
days doing everything and happened upon your thread and was stunned because we use Laserfiche. As soon as I uninstalled it everything went back to normal.
