Default 'Tools' & 'Tables' absent from WORD menu bar

Where to find these absent functions and how to replace them on the Word menu
bar. Only Word affected. (Other programmes e.g. Excel OK.) Want to use
Mail merge in particular. Only know how to get it from Tools.
Office 2003. Windows XP.
Have already tried re-installing OFFICE.
Any advice much appreciated.

Try Method 2 in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...oreMenuCmd.htm first.
If that doesn't help, then see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm , except
that your Word 2003 data key will be in
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\ Word\Data .
