Default Word numbering shows correctly on screen but prints as 0s

I have set up a document with different levels of numbering. For example
1. Part
1.1 Part body
A. Part text

It shows up correctly on the screen but when I try to print sections of the
document, all of the numbers show up as 0 and the letters are just periods
(.). Please help!
PS - I am using the "track changes" option, but I don't think this has any
affect on this.

Track Changes does have a disastrous effect on numbering until all changes
are accepted, but also see
