Default removing an automatic hyphen

If automatic hyphenation was used, is there a way to prevent a specific word
from being hyphenated?

Thanks.

Yes. Hyphenation is part of the Proofing tools. So if you select your word,
then go to Set Language and check the 'Do not check spelling or grammar'
box, the work will not be hyphenated. If you find you need to do this
frequently, you can create a style with no proofing set.

That should say, '...the word should not be hyphenated.'
