How do I stop the date changing daily on important saved letters?
I have very important letters saved and need to make copies of them to take
to a work tribunal. When I attempt to copy them the date changes automatically to the days date, not the original date. How do I get the original date to stay on the letters? (Word 2003) |

Press Alt+F9 to display the field code, which will probably be DATE (or
possibly TIME). Change this to CREATEDATE. Alt+F9 to toggle back and F9 to update the field. It is generally a good idea to use a CreateDate field in templates so that each document created based on the template will contain its creation date. -- Suzanne S. You are using a DATE or TIME field rather than a CREATEDATE field. This
field should be put in the original template if possible (instead of inserting using the keyboard shortcut or header/footer toolbar button). In the document in question, press Alt-F9 to display field codes. Then change the field to a CREATEDATE field, press F9 and then Alt-F9.
