Default my 3rd tab text goes to the left not the right I can't fix it

I am a college taking my first computer class, I am not very proficient wtih
computers and I can't get ahold of my teacher. I am doing the skill drills
for a word project. With this project I have set three tabs. The 3rd tab
text comes out going to the left instead of the right. I have reset it 4
times and it continues to do so. I have set up 3 other tables in this
lesson, so I don't know what is wrong. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Sincerely, Camille

Sounds like you've got a right-aligned tab. See

Irrespective of the tabs you have positioned on the ruler, the best way would
be to follows these steps:

1. Click three tabs on the ruler.
2. On the Format menu, click Tabs..
3. Under the Tab Stop position, click the third tab.
4. Click the Alignment option you wish.
5. Click the Set button.
4. Click OK.
