Heading 5 is marked "Hide until used" and I can't use it until I can see it.

Answer: How do I change a style from "Hide until used" to show it?
Now the "Heading 5" style should be visible and usable in your document!

These settings are in the Manage Styles dialog, accessed from one of the
buttons at the bottom of the Styles task pane. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "Mike" wrote in message ... Heading 5 is marked "Hide until used" and I can't use it until I can see it. How do I unhide it? Thanks |

You can also apply it quickly by typing "Heading 5" into the styles dropdown. In Word2007, that alone might be reason enough to put the styles dropdown on the QAT... I hate going through "Manage styles" for a simple thing like that. Regards, Klaus |

That's what I did as a work around, but I know that there is a Heading 5 style.
Suzanne's answer works, but it took me a while to find it on the 'Recommend' tab of the Manage Styles dialog. Thanks both of you for your help. If you set the sort order to Alphabetical, it's much easier to find a given
style. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "Mike" wrote in message ...
