Default MS '03 Offc. Issue - Normal file already exists message upon exit

After saving a MS ofc 2003 word doc and attempting ot quit the applicatin, I
get the following warning message:

Changes have been made that affect the global template, Normal. Do you want
to save those changes?

If I select Yes or NO, Word closes. However, when I try to access the saved
doc I get the following message:

The file is not available.

Help!!!

Both these issues are often caused by the Office Plug-in in Norton
AntiVirus; disable it.
