Align with what?

In many fonts, all the numerals have the same width, so if your
dollars and cents are aligned right, your dollar signs will line up
with each other. If your 1 is narrower than your 9, then change to a
different font (such as Times New Roman).

The way to align things is to set tab stops in the desired places and use
the tab key.

Yeah - that's how I have it set up now actually in a table so the users don't
mess up the formatting - looking for an easier way but guess doesn't exist.

You could insert an extra column just to contain the $. Then a Ctrl+Tab
would not be required.
