Word 2007, WinXp all updated, stand alone desktop. Sys runs 24/7

Office 2007 SB installed on an account with admin privelidges
In Word OptionsAdvanced 'show this number of Recent Documents' is disabled,
help tips say 'your admin has disabled this command through group policy'

Also auto recover is set to every 10 minutes, but the default location
contains no files

T/Y

Is this your own personal computer or a corporate computer?

Auto Recover (Recover from crashes) and Auto Backup (Save copies) are two
different things.
Word has no Autoback up feature. For that, you need to use macros or a third
party application.

See

for excellent ideas on the topic.

Its a personal PC, Office 2007 SB was an upgrade of Office 2003 Pro (retail
version)
Office 2007 SB was supplied as a free download, with key, from MS as I
qualified for such, as a member of a specific MS business group

Autorecover - thanks

If the option was working with Word 2003, it should work as well with 2007,
this is not something that Word willl change by default, especially on a home
computer. Unless that particular build you got has some tweaks for a business
environment...

I have had difficulties finding information on this particular topic as it
relates to Word.
For Windows, there is plenty of help on that, like this, for example:

It might help you find the problem?
