How do I create a merge template that sets a filename.
I have a Template that prints a form letter. I would like to save the
resultant form letter with a unique name, and pass that unique name on to Acrobat so the PDF version will also be the same. I don;t want the user to have to enter this name - I want it to be generated from the "Company Name" merge variable with a prefix - for example: "Partner Welcome Letter - Joes Company.doc" and "Partner Welcome Letter - Joes Company.pdf" |

This is quite tricky to do as the field data is no longer present once the
merge has completed, but one possible method is suggested at http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Tom wrote: I have a Template that prints a form letter.
