Assuming you have MS Excel, select the column of names, and copy the column
into cell A1 in Excel. In Excel, click no the "Data" menu and select "Text to Columns". This opens the "Convert Text to Column Wizard - Step 1 of 3". As your file type is "space delimited", click next. Now select "Space" as the delimiter, and click on "Finish". You will now have two columns. Highlight both columns and select "Sort" from the "Data" menu. In the sort dialog box, select Column B in the first "Sort by" field and ensure "Ascending" is selected. Now click OK and you will have your column of names sorted by last name. "gking" wrote: How can I sort a column of names by last name IE: George King |
