Default Windows Installer Appears at Word Startup

I recently I had to replace my hard drive and thus had to re-install my
Microsoft Word. Now when I try to start Microsoft Word the "Windows
Installer Preparing to Install" message box opens up briefly and Word takes
a very long time to load.

I am sure there must be a simple solution. Any solutions?

thanks, Bob

I have exactly the same problem with a client and have found it happens
wherever she logs in but doesn't happen to anybody else
