linking styles together
When creating a new style, how can it be linked to other styles (e.g. be
linked like heading 1, heading 2... in the normal dot?) |

If you mean that you want to be able to change styles by promoting and
demoting paragraphs, you'll have to set them up in an outline-numbered list (they don't actually have to be numbered). See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html. On the other hand, if you want a style to inherit settings (such as font, font size, etc.) from another style, see: http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/styl...esCascade.html. By default, most styles are based on the Normal style; you can modify this style to quickly change font formatting of all of those styles in a Word document or template. Conversely, you shouldn't use the Normal style to change something that you don't want to transfer to those "child" styles, such as line spacing, spacing before/after. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "sylvie" wrote in message ...
