Can you be more specific on what you're trying to accomplish the number of boxes on the page, the version of Word and how you're trying to move them? Factors that affect the placement include use/settings of the snap to grid feature (drawing toolbar=Draw=Grid), the text wrapping layout style applied to the textboxes and whether or not they're encased in a Word drawing Canvas, among others.
