Default Word 2007: Resequencing Figure numbering after moving + lost figur

I have moved a significant section of text and figures from the back of a
document to the front. There are about 13 figures and while they were
numbered 23, 24, 25, etc. after moving and highlighting and using Update
Field, they should have been renumbered. They are not. Figures (with
captions) are all in their own individual text boxes so I can wrap main body
text around them. I started this in Word 2003 then converted to 2007...
doesn't seem to matter since I have the same problem with another doc that I
started in 2007.

Also, on the first document, there are two figures that have gone completely
missing, yet the Table of Figures generation picks them up. I hyper link to
the location and there's nothing.

Thanks in advance,

dee

I've been thinking a lot about your problem and it just occurred to me that
the problem is that the figures are probably still anchored at the end of
your document since you did not cut and paste them.

Select one of your textboxes and while it is selected go looking for the
anchor and see if that fixes your numbering when you bring the anchor to the
beginning of the document.
