Is there a TOC which automatically updates header numbers for eac.
For version Word XP
I'm looking for a template in the TOC area which will autogenerate numbers for each section eg. Take headings Intro (heading 1) About Intro (heading 2) Conclusion (heading 1) Summary (heading 2) and generate 1.0 Intro 1.1 About Intro 2.0 Conclusion 2.1 Summary |

Are you saying that you want numbers in the table of contents but not
in the actual headings in your document? Since the TOC entries are formatted with styles, namely the TOC 1, TOC 2, etc. styles, you can modify these styles to include the desired numbering. If you need help with adding outline numbering to the TOC styles, read the article at: http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html. -- Stefan Blom "PStachel" wrote in message ... To do this, you would need to set up your TOC Styles with outline
numbering. The following link provides details for setting up outline numbering in heading styles. i have tested, but it should apply to TOC styles: http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html |
