Word: Option to invert selection in right click menu
After selecting a portion of a document in word, and you right click on it,
you should have the option to invert selection. This is useful for example when you want to change the format of the whole document except for the selected part. p.s. Yes , I know that i can hold the CTRL key to selectively "select" text ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. It would be very easy to write a macro that does this... *if* Word VBA would
have support for multiple selections :-( The macro below might do the trick (not sure if it works well on long docs, or even if it works at all in all language versions. It needed another ugly hack because there's also no VBA support for the new Find dialog (with "Select all instances in: ..."). Selection.Font.Outline = True Selection.Collapse (wdCollapseStart) Selection.Find.ClearFormatting Selection.Find.Font.Outline = False SendKeys "{TAB}{+}{DOWN}{DOWN}{HOME}~~" With Dialogs(wdDialogEditFind) .Display 1 End With ActiveDocument.Content.Font.Outline = False Regards, Klaus "vmorale4" wrote: After selecting a portion of a document in word, and you right click on it, you should have the option to invert selection.
