Default settings for new doc, Word 2007
In the past, changing the fonts, etc. in normal.dot would determine the
settings for a new doc when Word first opened. I have created a normal.dotx, placed it in a subdir with my other templates, and changed the template path (Word options - Advanced - File locations - User templates). While I am able to select normal.dotx, along with my other templates, when I first start Word, it is not using normal.dotx. Please advise. |

Only Word can create a normal template, which it will whenever the template
is not present in the user templates folder. You can edit that template in Word just as in earlier versions. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org cte67 wrote: In the past, changing the fonts, etc. in normal.dot would determine the settings for a new doc when Word first opened. Further, although Word can base documents on normal.dotx like any other
template, the template that Word creates for itself is normal.dotm -- the "m" denoting a macro-enabled template. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
