2 Normal.dot templates
Only Word can create a normal.dot. Naming a different template normal.dot is
not a good idea. Neither is sharing normal.dot. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc. Generally, you want to use document templates and put your styles in them. MSWord's default template is Normal.dot and I think every time a user opens up Word, it generates a refreshed copy of Normal.dot. At my work, they have created a template with unique styles and named it Normal.dot. Would Word replace this revised template with it's own? What are the problems that could happen with having 2 Normal.dots? Thanks |
