Keeping table from breaking accross pages
Is there a way to keep tables from breaking across a page. I want to keep
the rows together if the table gets pushed down to a point where it would break on the page. Thoughts??? -- ************************************************** ************************** Brady T. Select the rows you always want kept together, choose Format - Paragraph -
Line and Page Breaks tab - and select Keep Lines Together. Keep with Next can also be useful sometimes in working with tables. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Please respond in the newsgroups so everyone can follow along. http://www.herbtyson.com "Brady Finney" wrote in message ... "Keep lines together" has no effect in tables if you allow the rows to
break. "Keep with next" is effective only between rows and is what is needed. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...bleOn1Page.htm -- Suzanne S. One possibility to explore is using a nested table. Create a "parent"
table with one row and one column. Set the do not allow row to break property for the single row in the parent table. Also, turn off the borders for the parent table. Finally, embed your actual table in the parent table. This should give the behavior that you desire. Note that if the embeded table becomes too large it won't all display, i.e. the bottom will get clipped, because the "do not allow row to break" property limits a table row to be one page high at most. |
