Default Style for whole document?

Hi, I recently just installed Word 2007 (I previously used Word '02, so
there's a lot I'm getting used to still), and I'm having trouble with the
styles.

I modified one of the built in styles just so it would be with Times New
Roman (as I'm a student and have to use it) in 12pt. However, whenever I hit
enter to make a new paragraph in my paper, I lose all the style formatting
and it becomes Calibri in 11pt with 1.5 spacing and no indent. Sure, I can
fix all this, but when I'm writing a 20 page paper it gets REALLY annoying to
have to re-format every paragraph.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a way to disable/stop the auto
re-formating? (I have tried setting my modified format as the document's
default style.)

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that the "Style for following paragraph" is the same style? For
heading styles, for example, the following style is Normal or Body Text.

Oh, thanks; that solved it! That was ridiculously simple... =)

I'm glad I hit on the solution (I didn't really have much confidence that I
had!).
