Default Word 2003 Document Map issue with Hyperlinks

I am having an issue in Word 2003 with the Document Map when there are
hyperlinks on same of the lines. In the Document Map, a [-] minus sign shows
up next to a line if there is a hyperlink on that line, even if there are no
children under that line. Also, when a parent is collapsed, it sometimes
shows as a [-] instead of a [+].

The same document works perfectly in Word 2000.

Here is an image that should help to clarify the issue:

Any ideas on what is wrong or how to remedy this? I have all of the
available Word Updates.
