Headers - Footers anomaly
Hi
I use WRD 2003. Half of my footer text is not printing. Could someone suggest a reason? It ought to print ok because I am using a template that I created months ago and have never had the problem before. I've checked my margins & the header and footer distance from the edge of the page. Nothing has changed, that I can see, but one document prints fine; the other doesn't. Here are my setting: 1 All my margins are 2.5 cm 2 Header & Footer from edge is 1.25 cm 3 I use styles for all my templates and the footer is 'based on' the header 4 The page selected is A4 5 Both documents are portrait This is odd. If someone could throw some light on it, I would be grateful -- Jackie D |

If it's the bottom half of the footer that isn't printing, it could be
because it's outside the printable area of the page. Have you changed printers or printer drivers since you created the template? Hi Suzanne
No I haven't changed the print drivers or the printer. I'll check out your link though. Thanks for the help -- Jackie D "Suzanne S. Suzanne
I have discovered that the printable area for my Epson is 0.3 cm top, left and right and 1.4 cm at the bottom. So if I set my margins to 2.5 all round, would you suggest that I set my footer somewhere between 1.4 cm and 2.5 cm (from edge)? As I've said, at the moment I'm setting the footer to 1.25. -- Jackie D "Suzanne S. The 1.4 cm doesn't surprise me, as most inkjets do have a much larger
nonprintable area on the trailing edge (bottom of portrait pages, one side of landscape). So yes, you'll need to set the footer margin no less than 1.4 cm, and you may want to increase the bottom margin a bit, too, so as not to crowd the footer. -- Suzanne S.
