Default The "Design" tab is missing in Word 2007

All I want is a header on page 1 and the HELP file says to use the DESIGN tab
but I do not have one.

Why is Microsoft HELP only useful if you know what you are doing? It could
not parse Design Tab missing gave me pages of garbage about setting tabs.
Obviously a user critical KEYWORD field is needed in HELP to understand what
the user wants.

After 19 years using Winword 1 in 1990 to Office 2003 now, why the heck did
Microsoft dump 19 years of user intuative experience?

Thumbs up Answer: The "Design" tab is missing in Word 2007

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding the Design tab in Word 2007. The Design tab is where you can find options for formatting your document, including adding a header to page 1.

It's possible that the Design tab is hidden or not enabled in your version of Word. Here's how you can try to enable it:
  1. Click on the Office button (the round button in the top left corner of the screen).
  2. Click on Word Options at the bottom of the menu.
  3. Click on Customize Ribbon on the left side of the screen.
  4. In the right-hand pane, make sure that the checkbox next to the Design tab is selected.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

If the Design tab still doesn't appear, you can try resetting the ribbon to its default settings:
  1. Right-click anywhere on the ribbon (the area with all the tabs and buttons).
  2. Click on Customize the Ribbon.
  3. Click on the Reset button at the bottom of the window.
  4. Click OK to confirm that you want to reset the ribbon.

As for your frustration with Microsoft Help, I understand how you feel. It can be difficult to find the information you need, especially if you're not sure what to search for. One thing you can try is using more specific keywords when searching for help. For example, instead of searching for "Design tab missing," you could try searching for "How to add a header to page 1 in Word 2007."

Regarding your question about why Microsoft changed the user interface in Office 2007, the main reason was to make the program more efficient and easier to use. The new ribbon interface was designed to make it easier to find the features you need, and to provide more context-sensitive options based on what you're currently working on. While it can take some time to get used to the new interface, many users find that it ultimately saves them time and makes them more productive.

Hi Ron,

I assume you mean the Developer tab, in which case, it's not missing - you just haven't activated it!

Go to Word Options|Popular and check the 'Show Developer tab in Ribbon' option.

The "Design" tab only appears if you have got a Table. To re-iterate what
Macropod said - do you really mean the Developer tab?
And in any case, you don't need either of those tabs to create a Header on
the first page. AFAIK....

You need to go to Page Setup and choose Different First Page. Then you will
have two separate H&F, one for the first page of each section and one for
the other pages of each section.

I am sure that someone who has exclusively used a CRT TV purchased in 1990
would experience the same difficulties having a DIGITAL flat screen TV
suddenly dumped on them! Life moves on.

The Design tab is context sensitive. It will appear if your cursor is in a
table

It will also appear if your cursor is in a Word 2007 equation.

I believe what you are looking for is the contextual Header & Footer Tools |
Design tab. This will appear when the insertion point is in the header or
footer. Double-click in the header area to open the header, and the Design
tab will be displayed. On that tab, check the box for "Different first
page," which will give you a separate First Page Header and First Page
Footer.

For more on headers and footers, see

You designed the back-to-work baby bottle to protect breastfeeding relationships. We know the successful transition from work to breast will impact nearly every aspect of a new mom’s day including her overall happiness and confidence, which is so vital as a new parent and also visit https://bestwritingsclues.com/review...ypaper-review/ site to get trust papers there. By supporting her breastfeeding relationship, we aim to make going back to work an opportunity for mom to grow professionally and personally.

Reviewers are unlikely to use the same phrases often, so writers should also look at the other essay writer bot They also don't copy and paste the essay writing service reviews because the firms would like them to utilize the same terms again and over.
