Style for ordinary paragraphs
I was under the impression that "Body Text" was the correct style to use to
get blank space between paragraphs. For example, according to http://www.techscribe.co.uk/ta/styles-in-word.doc "Best practice says that you shouldnt use the paragraph style Normal for your text. The reason for this is that Normal is the basic style on which all other paragraph styles are based. So, if you change Normal, theres a good chance that youll affect other styles in a way you dont intend. Its best to use the style Body Text for all your main text." But now I find that in Word 2007 the default is that "Body Text" is hidden from the list of styles. I get the feeling that Microsoft do not want it to used, and that I am fighting against tide. Does anyone have some up-to-date advice on which style should be used for ordinary paragraphs? |

Style for ordinary paragraphs
Do what you think is best for you. I still use body text with the spacing as
my main regular text style and normal without spacing for other uses. I also "un-hid" body text in my normal.dotm. I format long, complex documents, and having both styles is helpful. But inexperienced or casual users probably think body text is a needless complication, and MS is all about making things seem easy to those casual users.
