Default default settings lost when I exit Word

I initiate new default settings, e.g. font margins, but they do not exist
after I exit Word. Similarly, new macros and custom toolbars are lost. I do
not want to re-create these every time I use Word.

Do you have the full version of Acrobat 7? See the last section of

My business web security blocked your website, but the address implied
something to do with Adobe toolbars. I de-activated the PDF Create toolbar
and the problem is coreected.

Thank you!

Well, that's one approach, but the issue is that if you have Adobe Acrobat 7
installed (not any previous version), it prevents Normal.dot from being
saved. You can get a patch from Adobe that is supposed to correct this.
Meanwhile, you can force a save of Normal.dot after modifying it by using
Shift+File | Save All.

Thanks for the details, Suzaane. I will get the patch, although the
nickle-dime approach gets me through the day.

Is there some reason why your business security is blocking my web site? I
have tried to make the site as inoffensive as possible - no pop-ups etc.,
just useful information? If the people who want the information I am
providing are blocking it, then frankly I don't know why I bother wasting my
time

We are a large organization and the IT department is mandated to curb abuse
and employ Websense. From Websense, 'Reason: The Websense category "Personal
Web Sites" is filtered.'

I get good stuff, like yours, from my computer at home.

The IT guys provide very good support, although I hate to heckle them with
'small' problems that I might be able to fix myself. Of course, being only
semi-competent, I am more likely to mess things up.

Please do not be disheartened , Graham. Your good work is very appreciated.

This seems to be very common. The Web site I maintain for my Rotary club (a
totally volunteer effort) uses "personal Web space" at
http://home.earthlink.net/~fairhoperotary. We're a small-town club, so most
of our members are not working for large corporations, but a couple of the
bankers and stockbrokers are unable to access the Rotary site from work.
It's a PITA but a fact of modern business life.

How do you hit Shift+File? Where is "File" located? is it a keystroke or an
icon on the screen or dropdown?
thanks!

File is the first item on the Menu Bar. Press Shift while clicking on it to
see the full menu, including Save All.

You would need to add Save All to the Quick Access Toolbar.
