Default Word 2007 Prompts to update external links

Hello
On one server, I have Office 2007, on other workstations, I have Office XP.
I have some software that creates the word documents (word xp) based on
external data and faxes the documents to a program called faxmaker (GFI).
This software uses the installed version of word (2007) to convert the word
documents to a fax format. Problem is, is that when a person sends a fax
(through exchange to the fax server), Word 2007 Prompts to update the
external links in the document before converting. Because no body has access
to the server (except the admin), users never see the prompt and winword.exe
stays open waiting for user input; Consequently, faxes do not get sent.
Is there a way to prevent Word 2007 from prompting to update external data?

Thank you
Terry

You are aware that server-side automation of Office files is not supported, for
this very reason. And there is no reliable way to make sure all messages are
suppressed. That said, take a look under Word Options/Display/Printing options.
You'll find an option that forces field/link updating. And under
Advanced/General you'll find one for updating when the document is opened. It's
not clear from your problem description which of these may be firing, but if you
deactivate them the message should no longer appear.
