mail merge documents moved from one server to another server don't
We had a file server that contained several word mail merge documents that
used Excel spreadsheets as the mail-merge datasource. This file server crashed and we moved all of these files to a different file server with a different server name. Now when you open a mail merge, Word says it cannot find the data source. Then you have to reselect the datasource and save the document. The next time you open the document, it works fine. We have about 30-40 of these mail merge documents and it takes awhile to re-map the datasource on each document. Is there an easier way to re-map these datasources without going into each individual document to change it? The only thing that changed for the path to the datasources is the server name (althougth the server name was not selected as part of the process of browsing to the datasource when these mail merge documents were initially set up). Thanks for the help. Derek |
