page numbers keep reformatting
We'll need more detail than that, I'm afraid.

page numbers keep reformatting
Thanks for responding Suzanne. Here's some more detail.
I've added page numbers and number of pages (Page X of X) to the footer of a word document. They defaulted to Arial, 11 pt., regular. I changed it to 8 pt. all else the same. Saved the document. When I reopened it, it went back to 11 pt. I changed it again, saved it, then reopened the document, and once again, it went back to 11 pt. This is just the page number and number of pages fields, while my own typed text (page, of) stayed at 8 pt. I didn't have this problem in word 2003... so... I can't seem to find the solution. Otherwise I really like the new office pro edition. I have already picked up on the new toolbars and I like the design. It is so much easier - I don't have to customize my toolbars!!! and everything seems to run and open much faster. -- Justin "Suzanne S. You didn't say this was Word 2007, and I can't really help with that, but if
it were an earlier version, I would guess that you had modified only the formatting and not the style and had "Automatically update document styles" turned on so that every time you open the document, it's as if you'd selected all the text and pressed Ctrl+Q. -- Suzanne S.
