Creating a Word Doc with std pages and 2 column pages
Im using Office XP
I have a word doc (10 pages in total) that so far is made up of pages with 2 columns (like a nespaper) from page 1 to 5, now what to only have 1 column on the page (as word is as standard) from page 5 to 10. I cannot seem to break the style, i thought that there was a style or format break that would do this but I cannot seem to figure this out. I need urgent help as this is for work.. thanks in advance... |

At the end of page 5, hit Insert--Break and choose Next Page under Section.
Then, with your cursor below the section break, hit Format--columns... ************ Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com "dhbyrne" wrote in message ... Whenever you change the number of columns, you need a section break.
Press Enter to insert a single empty paragraph, select the paragraph, and format it as one column. Word will insert the required section break for you. Alternatively, insert a Section Break (probably Next Page in your case), then set the number of columns to one in the new section. -- Suzanne S. Columns are a section property.
http://addbalance.com/usersguide/sections.htm. I often use the column button on the formatting toolbar when I want to change the column setup. This automatically inserts a section break (continuous). If you have a portion in the middle of the document that you want in columns, select that and use the column button. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
