Default change docx docs to doc

The lord doesn''t count days fishing against your time here on earth. Bigfish
A software program I use won't let me open a doc I wrote to preview. It
saves in .docx I'm told to save it in .doc format. How do I do this and can I
set it to always save in .doc format. Will it create any problems for me if I
save docs in .doc? Thanks for the help.

The only "software program" in existence at this time that saves documents
as .docx by default is Word 2007. Presumably that is what you are talking
about. If so, why not SAY so rather than use the phrase "A software program
I use"?

If you need to "save as" .doc format all the time, then you can set Word
2007 to do this automatically.
And no, there won't be any problems unless you use formatting that is only
available in Word 2007 docx format......
