Restoring default settings in Word 2007
I was wondering if there is any way to restore all of the default settings
for Word 2007. DH had changed such things as tabs, fonts, spacing, etc. when he set it up. However I have enrolled in a computer class and I need Word back to the original default settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, CindiSu |

Thanks in advance, CindiSu With Word closed down, go to the folder %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates and rename the file Normal.dotm to something else, such as Normal_save.dotm. Then restart Word. That will take care of all the default formatting (except for a few things that probably weren't changed, such as numbered lists). It also won't reset options that are stored in the registry, but restoring those is a bit more difficult. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
