How do I number my paragraphs (in the right hand margin)?
My college literature prof has asked that we "number our paragraphs" in the
right hand margin of our term papers, so she can reference her online comments to us succinctly. Any idea how to set up the word format to accomplish this task? |

You can add line numbers (not paragraph numbers) via the Page Setup dialog box:
In case of Word 2003 or earlier version: Select File menu Page Setup Layout tab. Click "Line Numbers". In the dialog box that opens, turn on "Add line numbering". Set Start at = 1. If you want to number e.g. only every fifth line, set "Count by" = 5. Make other selections as desired. Click OK twice. In case of Word 2007: On the Page Layout tab Page Setup group, click Line Numbers and select the bottom command. This opens the Page Setup dialog box. See the description above. -- Regards Lene Fredborg - Microsoft MVP (Word) DocTools - Denmark www.thedoctools.com Document automation - add-ins, macros and templates for Microsoft Word "Bridges" wrote: My college literature prof has asked that we "number our paragraphs" in the right hand margin of our term papers, so she can reference her online comments to us succinctly.
