Default How do I stop old saved documents from opening with the current da

When I open old saved letters the current date appears and does not let me
view the original.
How do I turn this feature off?

Press Alt+F9 to view the field code and change DATE to CREATEDATE, then F9
to update. It's a good idea to use a CREATEDATE field in the letter
template. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/DateFields.htm
