Check Box Issue
I have check boxes on my word document. This is a document created by another
user. It will not let me check the box. When I double click the box it brings up properties. What is wrong anyone know? -- Matt Campbell mattc (at) saunatec [dot] com Message posted via OfficeKB.com http://www.officekb.com/Uwe/Forums.a...neral/200902/1 |

The check boxes are form fields, and the document has to be "protected for forms" to switch the fields from design mode (where the properties are available) to operating mode. To do that in Word 2003 or earlier, click View Toolbars Forms. On that toolbar, click the lock icon. Note that everything outside the form fields will not be editable while the document is protected; click the lock icon again to turn protection off. If you have Word 2007, you can add the lock icon to the Quick Access Toolbar -- right-click the Quick Access Toolbar and choose Customize, then select the Lock item in the All Commands category and click the Add button. See http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=22 for a tutorial on forms. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
