Default Attaching files in Word 2000 like attaching files to email

Is there a way to attach files to a word 2000 document similarly to an email
attachment?

Yes, you can insert a file so that it appears as an icon in the Word
document. Such inserted files can be opened by double-clicking or by
right-clicking and selecting Document Object Open from the pop-up menu.

What to do:
Click in the document where you want the inserted file icon to appear.
Select Insert Object Create from File tab. Click the Browse button,
browse to the desired file and click Insert. Turn on the €śDisplay as icon€ť
check button . If you want the inserted file to be linked, also turn on the
€śLink to file€ť button. Click OK.

Taking this a little further: I tried this and found it very handy but when
I inserted a brief video this way, the icon pasted OK but it would not open /
play. Is this asking too much? RB
