Help with Scrolling Text
I would like to create Scrolling Text and I am using Office 2003 Pro with
current updates. In Word when I click on the Scrolling Text icon on the Web Toolbar I get the following error message: This object was created in MARQUEE. This application is not available to open this object. Make sure the application is properly installed and that it has not bee deleted, moved, or renamed. I went to control panel and selected to repair the installation, but that did not help. What do I need to install and/or do to create scrolling text. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks Larry |

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=886299 "'Application is not
available' error messages when you try to insert some Web Tools in Word 2002 and Word 2003". Larry wrote: I would like to create Scrolling Text and I am using Office 2003 Pro with current updates. Help with Scrolling Text
Hi Larry,
Microsoft turned off that Active-X control (Marquee) in a Windows security update due to potential problems. Marquee was a Microsoft created proprietary extension to HTML for browsers Some of the workarounds available that work in browsers such as using Javascript or creating a marquee in an animated GIF file, still won't work within Word as neither of those is supported in a document being viewed in Word, only in a browser. You can do it if you have the ability to create the scrolling text in a flash object and it will display in Word for you, but whether it displays for anyone else can depend on their security settings. =============== "Larry" wrote in message ...
