While typing I seem to have hit the wrong key and a whole lot of unusual
characters came up. I can't paste them to show you wht it is but in Symbol
box it is 00B6 or Shortcut key Alt+0182.



How do I get rid of these signs?

The "wrong key" was either Ctrl+Shift+8 or the ¶ button on the toolbar
(they're equivalent). Press that key combination or click that button
again to turn off the symbols.
