Default Problem with list styles

Hi,
I have defined list styles in Word 2003 to be used for numbered and bulleted
lists. It solved the problem that i previously had while copying text from
one document to the other (Word used to join all numbered list into one long
list...) which made me very happy.
However, a new problem poped up - when i try to indent the first item in the
list (by clicking Tab at the beginning of the line or by clicking the Indent
button at the Format toolbar) nothing happens - the line remains in the same
location.
This does not happen if i use Wrd standard button for numbered list
definition.
How can i make the first list item "indentable"?
Or how do i use numbered styles that behave exactly like the native Word
numbered list?

Hi,

Reacting to the first part of your message:
You can set wether Word joins lists after pasting or not. Maybe if you use
that your second problem is no longer relevant?
Click this route (Give or take a few synonyms, as I am using another
language) : Tools, Options, Editing: There's a button called 'Settings'.
Look at the bottommost checkbox.

For the indenting lines, have you set Word to automatically start a list
when you type? It is in Tools, AutoCorrect options, AutoFormat as you type.
This would apply a list style, which is usually indented, on the fly.

Hi,

I tried reseting this Paste options but it did not help. It seems that
when built-in styles are used for list (which is what we do) Word joins
pasted lists no matter how this option is set.

Sefi.
